Westminster, an upscale senior living community located in central Austin, is seeking an experienced, hospitality minded candidates to work as our Environmental Services/Housekeeping Supervisor. This person will work primarily in our Skilled nursing Health Center, the Arbour.
Responsible for the day to day supervision and operation of Westminster’s Health Center Environmental Services department. Along with the Director of Environmental Services, this position will help to develop, implement and maintain all Environmental Services standards, policies and procedures and assist the director with supervision of all Environmental Services staff employees.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Supervises the performance of Environmental Services staff in the Health Center through personal inspections and other quality control techniques. Report any concerns to the Director of Environmental Services.
Assist with common areas and room cleans. Assign all housekeeping duties to staff.
Inspects all housekeeping equipment regularly for proper functioning and safety.
Responsible for work order log and assure work orders are completed.
Listens to, responds to, and maintains open communication with residents regarding their concerns and expectations of the housekeeping department.
Takes ownership for resident issues and concerns as they arise in the course of job duties.
Ensures that outside services are properly completed and supervised in accordance with contracts.
Inspects the facility on a regular basis to ensure that the interior of the community is maintained in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Responsible for resident room assignment moves and logistics. Ensures that all personal property is moved with the resident.
Orders necessary supplies, chemicals, and equipment for Health Care Center Environmental Services.
Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Previous management or supervisory experience required.
Previous housekeeping work experience in a skilled nursing facility or hospital environment preferred.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English and perform basic arithmetic.
Knowledge of floor equipment, carpet care, chemical usage, and federal/state laws applicable to the retirement/nursing home industry.
