Dance Program Outreach Manager (STUDENT ONLY)

The Dance Program Outreach Manager proactively manages assigned tasks related to promotion, recruitment, and programming of the dance program. This position requires informed knowledge of the program’s history, curriculum, and vision, as well as previous experience with dance production and technical skills (lighting/sound design and/or operation). The Outreach Manager is an outward-facing role, serving as an ambassador for the program and the university at external functions, accessing information of a confidential nature related to prospective students, and overseeing dance company management for performance activities (including teaching warm-up class and serving as a liaison for technical and production coordination). The Dance Program Outreach Manager will supervise Level I and Level II student employees as related to program activities.

Current Westminster students with at least one semester until graduation. Candidates must have a positive and enthusiastic personality, strong work ethic, and be self-motivated and flexible to absorb independent work assignments that require discretion in judgment and decision-making. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Previous knowledge of Dance Program operations and skilled experience in dance production and dance technique for teaching/supervising. Strong organization and interpersonal skills.

Experience with relevant computer applications such as MS Excel, Google Drive, Photoshop, Illustrator, web design software, and video editing software used by faculty is preferred.

Critical Thinking, Leadership

Coordinate rehearsal for faculty creative research, community partnerships, and the Westminster Dance Company.

Supervise facilities reservation with Dance Administrative Assistant (student).

Design and implement outreach activities to students and audiences with respect to recruitment, auditions, and engagement.

Access and protect confidential information related to prospective students.

Serve as a teacher for movement-based, dance production, and creative classes, as needed for Dance Company, and in alignment with the student’s area of interest.
