Westminster Schools of Augusta is a Pre-K through 12 regionally accredited, coeducational, college-preparatory, Christian day school enrolling over 500 students. The 34-acre campus is located in a residential section of Augusta, which is Georgia’s second largest metropolitan area. The school is affiliated with First Presbyterian Church of Augusta (PCA), but the student body and faculty include members from more than 90 different local churches of various denominations.
Westminster Schools of Augustaseeks an Athletic Trainer to lead the School’s program supporting student-athletes on the field, with sports-related injuries, and through protocols in preventative care. The Athletic Trainer, providing coverage for the grades 6-12, will work under the direction of the Athletic Director to advance the needs of the school’s overall athletic program.
This is apart-time (approximately 20 hours a week) 10-month position and is available as an immediate opening and continues through the end of May. Core hours of work begin at 2:30pm and conclude upon completion of the last practice/game. Some weekend/holiday game coverage required.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Excellent oral and written communication.
Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with a diverse group of people, including students, parents, faculty, staff, and visiting teams.
Fulfill duties and athletic coverage as defined by the athletic administration, including but not limited to:
Game and practice coverage, injury prevention and evaluation, communication to campus nurses, coaches, parents, and faculty; coordination and implementation of rehabilitation programs and return to play protocols.
Track and help with CPR/AED certification of coaches, sports clearance tracking, and baseline concussion test administration seasonally.
Flexibility to work long hours including weekends and evenings, during busy times.
Contribution to the team effort including assistance with other duties and functions defined by athletic administration.

Maintain physical forms and all health related paperwork on athletes and coaches

A Bachelor’s Degree in athletic training or related field
NATABOC certification
GA state licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure
CPR/AED/First Aid certification
Excellent communication and organization skills
Ability to work in a self-directed setting
Other Preferred Qualifications
CSCS, PES or other strength and conditioning related certification
Previous Middle/High School experience
