Westminster Preschool - Bridge of Grace Early Years Academy is Hiring a Site Director Near Marion, IN

1) Summary

The Site Director is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and quality of education, for all children within the center’s care. The Site Director is directly accountable for overall operational management in accordance with well-established guidelines, including staff and family management. All leadership will advocate for the organization in regards to fulfilling our vision and mission statement.

2) Position Description

Reports to: Development Director, Executive Director and Preschool Board of Directors.

Qualifications required: Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, at least 3 years of Early Childhood Education experience. Must commit to pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.

Qualifications preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or higher, early Childhood leadership experience

Requirements

  • Meet National Association Membership Qualifications
  • Infant/child CPR & First Aid Certification
  • Pass background check
  • Pass physical health screening
  • Willing and able to lift a child weighing at least 40 pounds
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, sit on the floor and rise from the floor without adult assistance.

Skills

  • Basic understanding of Google (Drive, gmail, calendar, etc).
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft (word, powerpoint, etc)
  • Basic understanding of Pathwright (online curriculum tool)
  • Organization
  • Creativity

Professional Development Required: 20 hours at minimum per year

Job Classification: Exempt

Hours: 40 hours a week. Varied with some weekends and evenings required. Yearly contract.

3) Expectations/Values

Leadership

  • Models authentic servant leadership through honesty, responsibility, respect, trust, humility, and upholding Westminster’s values.
  • Holds confidential all information regarding Westminster’s data and conversations, during employment and after termination or resignation of employment. This includes but is not limited to financials, employee records, and details of management.
  • Attends all meetings with an engaging demeanor, bringing their voice to the table.
  • Seeks out personal & professional development.
  • Partners directly with the Assistant Director in completing tasks and maintaining a united front.

Culture

  • Create a culture of shared purpose, trust, community, vision and promote inclusion.
  • Lives in curiosity over judgment in all relationship.
  • Champions staff to meet their goals and expectations through continuous observations and evaluations. (Examples: Monthly 1-on-1’s with staff, yearly evaluations, etc.)
  • Implement Teacher Improvement Plans, if expectations are not being met and release staff who are unable to meet expectations.
  • Lead monthly staff meetings and other professional development meetings for individual programs.
  • Ensure the program meets all standards and regulations Westminster concedes to follow (CCDF, VCP, CACFP, PTQ. etc).
  • Including staff and child files are up to date, health and safety regulations met for indoor and outdoor spaces, etc.
  • Partners with employees in conflict to work towards resolution.

Community

  • Oversee all Parent Teacher Conferences are conducted at least three times a year (August, December, May)
  • Organize, schedule, and implement all program family or special events (i.e. Christmas Program, Stone Soup, Touch-a-Truck, etc).
  • For all-program events, Site Directors are expected to collaborate together with the other Site Directors, Development Director,and Executive Director (i.e. Trunk-or-Treat, Pre-K Graduation, etc).
  • Conduct at least 2 Open Houses a year for current and prospective families.

Communication

  • Communicate and articulate Westminster’s mission, vision, values, and goals clearly.
  • Distribute monthly family and staff calendars.
  • Report monthly to the Westminster Board regarding financials, celebration, concerns, etc.
  • Provide abundant communication with current and prospective families through various forms of communication (in-person, procare, newsletters, etc).
  • Updates promptly Google Calendar with events, time-off, etc.
  • Efficiently, professionally, and consistently utilizes various forms of group communication to staff (i.e. Groupme, email, text, phonecall, in-person). Checks email daily.

Curriculum

  • Learn, understand, and oversee implementation of Westminster’s Curriculum through Pathwright and in paper form.
  • Read Bill Millard’s book “Life Calling,” which provides further depth behind Westminster’s Curriculum.
  • Ensure all staff are completing curriculum paperwork and assessments.
  • Creativity & Resourcefulness
  • Able to create efficient organizational processes for paperwork, bills, staff scheduling, etc.
  • Motivated self-starter who is able to ask for assistance when needed.
  • Proactive in meeting deadlines and planning for future events (i.e. Christmas program, graduation, etc).
  • Designs short-term and long-term goals for program development and puts forth creative solutions to meet them.

Finances

  • Utilize Operational Budget approved by the Westminster Board.
  • Update Expenses & Ledger with charges and income at least weekly.
  • Maintain sustainable payroll through adjusting staff schedules based on the amount of children in attendance.
  • Submits tuition bank deposits weekly.

Balance

  • Maintain emotional control in stressful situations.
  • Creates and maintains healthy physical, emotional, and spiritual boundaries between staff and themselves.
  • Committed to taking care of self and understanding their impact.

Expectations and values above may be adjusted or added to the position at the discretion of the Development Director, Executive Director or Westminster Preschool Board.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
