Westminster Canterbury of Lynchburg, a 5-Star rated Continuing Care Retirement Community in Central VA is seeking a Speech Therapist join our team! 

PRN/On-call position available. Position would be on-call as needed and may include some weekend hours.

• Evaluate residents per MD order and establish appropriate Treatment Plans and Goals that meet the specific needs of the individual.
• Re-assess patients and caseload as needed in order to determine need for continued services or discontinuation of services based on patient progress. Carry out treatment plan as indicated.
• Provide thorough discharge planning that will allow the patient to function at a maximal level of independence in the least restrictive environment.
• Educate staff, family, and care givers as indicated.
• Identify needs for program development and implement programs according to company policies and procedures.
• Identify equipment needs of Speech Therapy Dept. and order equipment according to company and facility policy.
• Complete all required documentation according to guidelines specified in Documentation Manual.
• Coordinate in-services for facility staff as need is determined, to ensure safe and effective carry-over of Maintenance/Restorative Programs and overall call of the residents.

Requirements

• Must have a Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Active state license required.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
