Position Summary: Is responsible to assist the Training and Development Manager with all internal employee training.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties:

  • Assist Training and Development Manager with the coordination of all internal (and external as needed) training and professional development of all new and existing employees to ensure adequate knowledge of policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Participate in the delivery/facilitation of credit union training and classes.
  • Assist Training and Development Manager in New Employee Orientation for all new hires.
  • Oversee the administration duties for CPD Online training for all employees.
  • Oversee and track the daily tasks for the Professional Development Library.
  • Oversee tracking and dispersal of branding apparel to new and existing employees. 
  • Help develop and oversee Westmark Mentor Program. 
  • Assist in developing consistent, high-quality curriculum, courses assessments, and instructional media in CPD and for the classrooms that effectively meets learning objectives and is in alignment with Westmark’s process and culture.
  • Assist in the regular review of training courses to ensure content and materials are accurate, up-to-date, and provide appropriate level of detail.
  • Assist in providing training support for new products and services as they are rolled out.
  • Assist and oversee the design and preparation of educational aids and materials as needed by Training and Development Manager.
  • Some travel at times to help implement new department trainings or Employee Orientation.
  • Uphold best practices and corporate education principles for training.
  • Assist, when requested by Training and Development Manager, in conducting customized training as requested by branch or department managers 
  • Assist in the set-up and clean-up of the training room for all training classes as needed.
  • Assist in proofreading any training material prior to implementation to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • See the big picture and assist in identifying skills and knowledge gaps that need addressing within the Credit Union. Take the initiative needed to start creating the training/process to close the skills and knowledge gaps identified.
  • Perform all duties as required by the Training and Development Manager.

Requirements

Required Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Above average organizational skills and time management strategies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present, speak, and deliver engaging training programs to small and large groups.
  • A general understanding of all Westmark products, services, systems, and policies.
  • Possess creativity, flexibility and growth potential.
  • Above average proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Adobe.
  • Proficient in Articulate Storyline or other eLearning content authoring tools.
  • Experience in blended learning.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and;
  • A minimum of 3 years relevant training or instructional experience with a financial institution; or
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 2 years of relevant training or instructional experience, or;
  • A combination of formal education, training, and applicable experience.
