Westlake Careers is Hiring a Forklift-Prefinish-2nd Shift Near Marion, VA

SUMMARY

Operate lift truck to keep moulding set up and moving through departments by picking up moulding, boxes, and U-racks from station to station. After accepting this position the individual must apply for and obtain a valid lift truck drivers license.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Pick up and move moulding, boxes and U-racks to and from each work area as needed.
  • Move moulding onto print, emboss and pack line according to priorities as listed on coordinator’s scheduling sheet.
  • Carry cartons to staging area for carton makers.
  • Move moulding to tape machine line and picture frame wrap line.
  • Perform required daily maintenance on forklift.
  • Maintain level of quality consistent with established standards.
  • Comply with established safety rules.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain constructive working relationships with co-workers, lead, supervisors, and managers.
  • Maintain regular attendance in accordance with company policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to the satisfaction of supervisor and/or lead.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education/Knowledge

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

  • Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence and to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

  • Communication

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variable in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts, and is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Eye and hearing protection is required when operating lift truck. Hand protection is occasionally required.
