Westlake Careers is Hiring an Analyst II - Production Planning Near Houston, TX

SUMMARY

Support Sales and Operations Planning and Execution (S&OP&E) for major components of the Chlorovinyls envelope including merchant Chlorine/HCl/EDC/VCM, Caustic, or PVC. Responsibilities include various tasks to maintain and execute supply plans to ensure business and customer requirements are met through use of digital tools, data gathering and analysis, communication with stakeholders, coordination of orders, inventory management, and use of logistical assets.

This position will also serve as a primary backup to higher level product planners.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Maintain plant operating rate data (supply plan)
  • Maintain plant, terminal, and warehouse inventories (inventory plan)
  • Maintain sales forecast and sales allocation data (demand plan)
  • Coordinate truck, railcar, barge, and ship orders/assignments to execute plans
  • Collect or maintain key metric data
  • Update key plan spreadsheets and reports
  • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Business Management regularly
  • Assist with use of Digital Optimization tools for supply chain
  • Suggest actions that maximize earnings and meet business goals
  • Suggest and implement reporting, data analysis, and transparency enhancements
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures
  • This role does not have any supervisory responsibilities

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 3 years experience required
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business management, engineering, or related field
  • APICS Certification preferred
  • Demonstrated success in making informed decisions, identifying and resolving operational/planning/logistics issues in a complex manufacturing environment
  • Experience with S&OP or S&OE processes
  • Familiar with SAP, demand management, sales forecasting, inventory replenishment, and supply chain/asset optimization software tools
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and be able to develop accurate, detailed analyses under time pressure

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
