Title: CNC Machinist

Position : Non-Exempt

Location: Walnut, CA

Manager : No

Reports to: Director of Operations, Tooling

Pay: $28.00/hr- $33.00/hr DOE

SUMMARY OF ROLE

The successful candidate will be required to Program, setup and operate various CNC machines with limited assistance and supervision in accordance with the established shop practices within the Westfall Technik organization.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain on-time deliveries for all jobs within the department.
• Maintain quality control procedures.
• Create detailed and setup work instructions.
• Analyzing speed, feed, and cutting tools for variety of material
• Creating NC programs and proving out manufacturing process for 3, and 5 axis machines
• Adjust part dimensions with offsets, change inserts, adjust/replace collets.
• Workpiece Loading/Unloading: Safely load raw materials or workpieces onto CNC Mills, ensuring proper alignment, securing them for machining process, unloading finished parts, deburring, cleaning, and prepping for Heat treat.
• Quality Assurance: Inspect machined parts using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.) to verify critical dimension accuracy and adherence to specifications.
• Maintain a department that is neat, organized, and clean at all times.
• Identify issues that arise during the machining process, such as tool wear, vibrations, or material defects.
• Reads and executes daily production schedule as directed by Manager.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve workflow and/or quality. Suggest initiatives to optimize daily operations.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor/ Manager.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• In depth knowledge of set-up techniques to ensure optimum quality and productivity through the manufacturing process.
• A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in both machining and programming or the equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
• experience programming 5-axis, & 3-D contour complex precision parts
• Mastercam Certified
• Strong Organizational Abilities
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Effective communication skills both verbally and written.

• Must be able to lift and move up to 100lbs infrequently.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment is usually in an indoor concrete floored precision machining shop. General noise level can fluctuate from medium to high on a constant basis.
