Westerwood is Hiring a Community coordinator Near Columbus, OH

Westerwood is seeking a full-time Community Life Coordinator to add to our exceptional team and community. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing a comprehensive activity program with varying levels of activities to meet the physical, spiritual, intellectual, and social needs, to all the residents in Assisted Living, including memory care, and Rehabilitation.

  • Duties of this position includes the supervision of the Community Life Assistants, leading group or individual activities, special interest groups, and games;
  • assisting in the movement of resident to and from activities and recreational areas; encouraging residents to attend activities and functions;

providing recreation activities at bedside when needed, assisting in planning special parties, outside trips, and cultural activities for residents, developing and distributing monthly activity calendar, maintaining activity participation records and completing other needed documentation as assigned.

Qualified candidates must have HS diploma, however a Bachelor’s degree and completion of MEPAP I & II courses is preferred.

Previous experience in an activities program within long-term care or assisted living is also preferred. Other requirements include : Knowledge of craft skills and group dynamics, ability to multi-task with excellent organizational skills, excellent interpersonal skills with high level of energy, creativity and enthusiasm, knowledge of, or skilled at, working with individuals who have cognitive, physical and sensory disabilities, and ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
