We are seeking a Payroll Specialist!

Responsibilities and Duties of Payroll Specialist:

Western Tidewater Community Services Board is seeking a motivated, knowledgeable professional to perform payroll-related duties. This incumbent will be responsible for or assist with the following functional areas:

• timecard reconciliation,
• benefit/deduction reconciliation,
• payroll processing and reporting,
• check printing and distributing,
• electronically filing and payment of taxes and other payroll deductions,
• maintain schedules and leave accruals,
• assist with W-2’s, processing garnishments,
• VRS reporting,
• payroll journal entries and other duties as related to payroll.
• Must be able to meet deadlines and work well as a team and individually.

Qualifications and Skills for Administrative Technician:

• High School diploma or GED Certificate;
• Associate’s Degree or higher in Accounting or Business related field
• One year of administrative payroll experience (Preferred)
• Working knowledge of MS Excel
• Knowledge of VRS and Kronos Payroll Preferred.
• Possession of a valid Driver’s License with an acceptable DMV record;
