Western Suffolk BOCES is looking for dedicated and qualified school leaders for two open positions in secondary programs in our Special Education Division.
QUALIFICATIONS:
NYS SDA or SAS/SBL Certification
Strong communications/interpersonal skills, with student-centered approach
Extensive experience working with students with special needs
Possess strong knowledge of research-based, proactive, positive behavioral interventions
Knowledge of Part 200 regulations, graduation requirements and data collection
Awareness of wrap-around services for students with disabilities and community-based partnerships
Fluent with education-related technology resources and platforms
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly supervise teachers, paraprofessionals and related service providers
Engage in timely, detailed and articulate conversations with district stakeholders
Oversee and participate in WSBOCES student CSE meetings
Support Principal with all daily school functions, including scheduling, security protocols, data collection, progress monitoring and highly effective programming
Conduct trainings to support staff development
Facilitate interdisciplinary meetings
