Western Security Bank is Hiring a Temporary Maintenance Tech Near Billings, MT

About The Role

Come join us this summer working as a Seasonal Temporary Maintenance Tech. This is a full time position starting in May running through end of August or beginning of September.

The Maintenance Tech will be responsible for seasonal grounds care, in addition to repair and maintenance of buildings and equipment. Will have extensive contact with internal and external customers for the purpose of communicating pertaining to project assessments, processes, procedures, timelines and other items related to the maintenance department. The position requires extensive customer service skills.

Maintenance Tech I will work independently as well as in cross functional teams with various levels of knowledge. These cross functional teams assist internal support staff to accomplish position/department/customer goals within regulatory/policy guidelines.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for grounds clean up, maintenance including activities such as mowing lawns, trimming hedges, weeding, raking and disposing of leaves and refuse.
  • Will determine and plant appropriate plants or shrubs for walkways, garden areas, or planters.
  • Will perform simple sprinkler maintenance and will be proactive with preventative measures.
  • Will maintain parking areas, driveways, sidewalks to a level that promotes the professional image of Western Security Bank and provides safe conditions for employees and customers.
  • Will operate a wide variety of power tools and equipment.
  • Will maintain small engines on gas powered lawn equipment.
  • Will perform carpentry projects that require a range of skills from rough to finish carpentry with directions.
  • Responsible to proactively notify Maintenance Director on concerns or need for minor to major repairs to building or equipment.

  • Complete required bank and OnCourse training courses within assigned time frame(s).
  • Represent Western Security Bank in a professional manner which includes a professional image, confidentiality, a positive attitude, good attendance, punctuality, flexibility and adaptability in meeting bank and customer needs. Keep work area tidy and maintain customer privacy. Attends and participates in meetings as required.
About You

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid Montana Driver's License required.
  • A minimum of 3 months grounds experience, maintenance or related experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY:

  • Strong interpersonal communications skills including customer service orientation and strong listening skills.
  • The ability to operate computer applications related to the position.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and attention to detail skills.
  • Must have the ability to work in a professional manner and consistently demonstrate courtesy, customer service, and tact in a fast-paced/deadlines-oriented environment.
  • Problem solving and exercising judgment are frequently used/required on the job.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Working knowledge and the ability to use power tools, hand tools, and basic maintenance equipment.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

Environment: Indoors and outdoors. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, high, precarious position, risk of electrical shock and to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme heat, explosives and frequently exposed to vibration.

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.
