Western Reserve is Hiring a Phlebotomist, Full-Time (2nd Shift - 1:30pm-10pm) Near Cuyahoga Falls, OH
Performs procedures involving blood collection, central receiving/specimen handling, and limited technical functions to assist the technologist in performing laboratory analysis.
Duties Include:
- Some outpatient drawing
- Registration – will work with insurance
- Accessioning – receiving specimens from offsites, unbagging, logging them into the computer
- Communicating with couriers to ensure all specimens have arrived from offsites
- Ordering specimens – both the outpatients that come in and some of the surgical specimens
- Faxing reports to physicians
- Answering phones
Hours: 40 hours per week - 1:30 PM - 10:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Education and Training
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Certificate in Phlebotomy or as a Medical Assistant preferred.
- Six months previous phlebotomy experience AND/OR completion of a Medical Assistant Program OR a Phlebotomy Program.
- BLS certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire and/or transfer.
Experience
Six months previous phlebotomy experience preferred.
