Responsible, as appropriate, for patient referrals, pre-authorizations, procedure scheduling, Bureau of Workman’s Compensation and disability issues. Schedules patient referral appointments and verifies hospitalization insurance coverage. Communicates with patient directly and over the telephone regarding medications, education, and counseling, per physician direction. Responsible for coordination and communication of injured worker data to BWC, MCO, TPA and client companies. Coordinates results reporting for Occupational Medicine clients.

Education and Training

• Associates degree in business or related field of study.
• May substitute clinical certification/licensure for associate’s degree. Additional relevant experience may be substituted for Associates degree and/or certification/licensure.
• Breath Alcohol Collection and DOT Drug Screen Collection certificate required within one year of employment.

Experience

• Two (2) years medical office billing experience;
• Experience with worker’s compensation and claims management preferred.

Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications

• Medical terminology preferred.
• Must have and maintain technical computer skills.

• Associate's Degree or better in Business Administration
