Manages operations of the hospital Emergency Dept, including planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating activities. Ensures effective and efficient operation of unit while maintaining focus on 100% patient centered care and overseeing day-to-day clinical operations. Manages staffing, departmental processes and develops policy and procedure. Maintains presence on unit to ensure all patient and staff needs are met and clinical quality and patient satisfaction standards are maintained and exceeded. Coaches and facilitates patient work teams to perform multifunctional patient care duties. Develops positive working relationships with physicians and supporting clinical departments.

Education and Training

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and current license to practice registered nursing in the State of Ohio or current multi state RN licensure recognized by the State of Ohio required.
• BSN preferred.
• BLS & ACLS required.
• Certification in specialty area preferred.

Experience

• Three years related professional nursing experience including one to three years progressive leadership experience.
• Experience in critical care nursing strongly preferred.

• Computer literacy (word processing, intranet/internet, email, report creation, charts and graphs).
