Position Summary:

The primary purpose of the position is to advise students regarding their life, career, and educational goals. They will help students with academic planning, exploring majors and interests, identifying obstacles to their success, and referring to on and off campus support and resources. Related to this purpose, this position will also engage in other student support activities including, but not limited to outreach to students with early action alerts, helping students connect with additional support resources (e .g. TRIO programs, tutoring), and more.

Must be able to effectively work with first-generation, low income, and underrepresented students. Must be skilled in addressing the needs of re-entry students, students in crisis, and students experiencing academic difficulty. Must exhibit cultural humility and agility, with the ability and commitment to work with students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.

• Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1 years’ Experience working with students in an educational setting such as advising, teaching, etc.

• Bilingual, Spanish preferred
