The Assistant Foreman will assist the Foreman with managing and coordinating work for laborers on the job site. They may also be responsible for managing a small team of laborers themselves when needed. This position involves assisting the project foreman to install complete hardscape and landscape projects including retaining walls, paver patio’s etc. along with traditional landscaping.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Ability to work outdoors in all conditions.

Knowledge and experience in installing a variety of hardscape applications, perennials, shrubs, trees.

Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work effectively with individuals of differing knowledge and backgrounds.

Knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools, and equipment required to complete various landscape/snow practices.

Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team.

Ability to walk, stand, crouch for long periods of time and carry out strenuous physical tasks.

Time management skills.

Punctual, dependable, self-driven, detail orientated, good time management and professional appearance.

Great communication skills.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE

Snow plowing experience.

Supervising experience.

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.

CDL – A or must obtain it within 90 days of employment.

Hardscape/Landscape grounds maintenance industry experience.

Ability to operate required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner.

Effective communication skills – must be able to carry out verbal instructions, read labels and signs, complete daily reports to the office and/or customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Hardscape/Landscape:

Assist with supervision and perform residential/commercial landscape projects from start to completion.

Assist the Foreman with ensuring proper procedures and company policies are followed through the entire job, and drive and maintain our company work trucks and equipment.

Hardscape and landscape installation (patio pavers, retaining walls etc.)

Train crew members on best practices of installation and company standards.

Maintain cleanliness of job sites, vehicles, and equipment.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Snow:

Attracting talent, setting training standards and assisting in hiring procedures.

Analyze and improve organizational processes, quality, productivity, and efficiency.

Install Satellite Salt Bins.

Assist the Foreman with equipment expansion is done and complete for season.

Assist the Foreman with ensuring all properties are marked prior to the first storm of the season.

Assist the Foreman with ensuring all equipment is serviced and in the proper location for storm operations.

Perform snow and ice removal and management services to territory assigned. .

Ensure proper account cleanup is scheduled and performed.

Ensure trucks and equipment are properly cleaned and serviced and ready for the next storm.

Ensure spot salting schedule is established and executed.

Ensure all plow markers are cleaned up and returned.

Perform other duties as assigned.
