The School of Nursing (SON) is seeking applications for a full time Office Associate. The Office Associate position performs a variety of administrative and clerical duties that require a high-level degree of initiative, accuracy, judgement, and knowledge as necessary to support the administrative operations of the School of Nursing.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The following duties are customary for this position but are not to be construed as all-inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted, and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs to support the administrative operations of the School of Nursing.

  • Performs a variety of clerical duties to include, word processing, data entry, recordkeeping, filing, copying, scanning, and faxing using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external constituents. May include providing prospective student tours and reception area coverage.
  • Assists the School of Nursing Administration Team with functions related to student testing, and personnel coverage in the Nursing Clinical Labs
  • Maintains medical records and clinical agency documents for various programs.
  • Schedules and documents clinics and community outreach efforts for various programs.
  • Assists with various School of Nursing events, such as recruitment, graduation, and community outreach events.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist individuals throughout the department as needed

Knowledge and Skills Considered Essential for Success:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and in operation of modern office equipment
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently and problem-solve
  • Positive work ethic and ability to adhere to standards of professional confidentiality
  • Organized and detail oriented with the capacity to work in an environment with frequent interruptions
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including customer service and telephone etiquette
  • Ability to work well in a team and interact professionally with a wide spectrum of individuals to include faculty, staff, administration, and external constituents
  • Ability to concentrate and focus on computer applications for a period of 2-4 hours
  • Ability to attend selected events on weekends and during evenings, and able to provide physical support for events, such as setting up tables and carrying boxes of recruitment materials (up to 20 pounds).
Job Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent, plus 2 years related experience.

Hourly Range: $13.44 - $14.00/hr
