CK Power is looking for a Payroll & Onboarding Specialist at our St. Louis, MO location. The Payroll and Onboarding Specialist is responsible for the regular, accurate, and timely completion of Payroll for all employees across the Family of Companies. You will also oversee all pre-employment screenings for new employees in various locations, as well as conduct onsite and remote onboarding for new employees as they begin employment with the Family of Companies.

What You’ll Do:

• Accurately complete Payroll for all divisions in the Family of Companies on a bi-weekly and twice-monthly basis.
• Accurately administer and pay out employee bonuses as needed.
• Administer/conduct pre-employment screenings for new employees in various locations across the Family of Companies, including physical exams, drug screenings, background checks, DOT history checks, essential function tests, and other screenings as needed.
• Coordinate with other departments to complete all pre-employment paperwork for new employees in various locations across the Family of Companies.
• Conduct in-person and remote Onboarding for new employees, to include benefits registration, online safety training, and any other orientation needed.
• Complete or assist with other projects and duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need:

• Two-year college degree in relevant subject or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of payroll/HR experience.
• Multi-state payroll experience.
• Experience documenting payroll process.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment with little to no error.
• Ability to analyze, interpret, and evaluate data.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Friendly and customer-focused attitude.
• High level of professionalism, ethical behavior, and ability to maintain confidentiality.

What Helps:

• HRIS experience preferred.
• Prevailing wage payroll experience preferred.
• Experience with garnishments preferred.
• Familiarity with state tax laws (MO, IL, OK, KS, TX, MI, and CO are pluses).
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field a plus.
