Western Cooperative Credit Union is Hiring an Ag Loan Assistant - Part Time Near Williston, ND

Western Cooperative Credit Union's Williston Main Branch has an opening for an Ag Loan Assistant. This is a part time position getting 15-25 hours per week. Hours will vary between Monday through Friday 8:00am-5:00pm.

Application deadline for internal candidates is on or before Wednesday, May 17, 2023.

Purpose: The Ag Loan Assistant performs a variety of support duties related to the ag lending function within the credit union. The position also provides service to members by answering routine questions and directing the flow of traffic in the Ag department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Input data into processing system.
  • Accompany Ag Loan Officers on field visits. Document and write up results of collateral inspections from visits.
  • Verify, sort, and maintain ag loan files both stored electronically and in paper format.
  • Monitor, distribute, and mail daily department correspondence and notices.
  • Responsible for shredding/destroying loan documentation in compliance with regulations.
  • Act as a backup for lien searches, filings, and maintenance for agricultural and commercial loans.
  • Review and work various monthly loan reports.
  • Assist members with basic loan related questions before directing them to an Ag Loan Officer.
  • Complete Verification of Deposits when there are loans on account. Accept payments and apply/release according to instruction.
  • Order, stock, and maintain an adequate supply of forms needed by the department.
  • General clerical functions such as filing, photocopying, and telephone calls.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the Ag Loan department as required.
  • Attend local Ag functions as a representative of WCCU.
  • Other duties as may be required from time to time in order to achieve credit union’s objectives.

Education and/or Experience

High School diploma or equivalent; one to two years related experience and/or training preferred but not necessary; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as financial statements including, but not limited to income tax returns, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
