Western Carolina University is Hiring an Associate Director Residence Life Near Cullowhee, NC

The primary location of this position is on the main Cullowhee, NC campus.
The Associate Director for Residence Life (AD) is a member of the central management team. The AD provides supervision and development for Master’s level Area Coordinators (ACs) and graduate level Graduate Community Coordinators (GCCs); incorporates the academic mission of the university into the residential experience; assists in the coordination of national searches for professional and graduate staff; provides departmental leadership in recruiting and selecting undergraduate student staff; serves as a consultant and resource to department staff in the areas of supervision, staff training and development, leadership development, programming, Greek Life, and Student Community Ethics; and participates in an emergency/crisis response on-call rotation. The Associate Director reports to the Director for Residence Life. This is a live-on position.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in College Student Personnel, Education, Human Services, Higher Education in Student Affairs or related field.
  • Minimum three (3) to five (5) years professional post Masters live-in experience managing a residence hall.
  • Outstanding organizational, planning, communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

  • Experience in working with students in a living-learning community
  • Experience supervising graduate-level staff
  • Teaching experience
