Job Overview

The Bilingual White Plains Site Supervisor provides direct services to victims of crime and their families and is involved in both direct client contact and supervision of site staff which includes the MDT Child Victim Advocates. The Site Supervisor will initiate site projects and collaborate with community agencies to strengthen the presence of WestCop- Victims Assistance Services. They will also oversee the operations of the site to ensure compliance with funder requirements as well as to support staff and clients.

The Bilingual White Plains Site Supervisor is responsible for supervision of the MDT Child Victim Advocates, who work closely with Child Protective Services to provide direct services to victims of crime under the guidelines of the VAS/MDT and DSS. The MDT Child Victim Advocate provides general victim advocacy/counseling; court accompaniment and filing victim compensation claims, including documentation, data collection and reporting; ensuring community awareness of and access to services and comprehensive care of victim-survivors. The MDT Child Victim Advocate provides in-person advocacy to children and families at the Child Advocacy Center, as well as conducts home-visits as needed with Child Protective Services.

The Bilingual White Plains Site Supervisor is responsible for covering a small number of MDT CACs in addition to providing oversight to the MDT Child Victim Advocates.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide OVS information, emergency awards and assistance to all victims of crime.
  • Provide in-person & phone counseling to primary and secondary victims of crime throughout Westchester County.
  • Provide follow-up and information/referrals regarding local resources as well as provide advocacy to clients in person and remotely.
  • Law Enforcement/ District Attorney agency accompaniment throughout Westchester County.
  • Child Advocacy Center accompaniment.
  • Provide all other crime victim services as needed.
  • Produce monthly reports as required by the agency and funders.
  • Attend monthly staff meetings, case reviews and other trainings.
  • Court accompaniment/advocacy.
  • Staff back-up to volunteer helpline.
  • Provide all other crime victim services as needed.
  • Provide supervision of site staff on a regular basis.
  • Oversee site operations.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS Preferred (Social Services, Criminal Justice, Counseling, etc)
  • Supervisory experience
  • Must have strong knowledge of MS Office (including strong excel skills) and G-Suite (Google Drive and Google applications)
  • Excellent writing skills, public speaking skills and presentation skills.
  • Impeccable organizational skills.
  • Driver’s license and car required (for client accompaniment and agency meetings)
  • Highly motivated and self-starter.
  • Must be fluent in Spanish

Salary range: $52,000 - $57,000 commensurate with experience.
