Description

As the Director of Student Success, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success and overall well-being of students within our school. You will lead a team dedicated to providing comprehensive services designed to address the diverse needs of our student body. This role requires a blend of knowledge, experience, leadership, and deep commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. This position reports to the school Principal. 

About the School 
Established in 1948 in Mamaroneck, NY, Westchester Day School, a Modern Orthodox, co-educational, dual curriculum Jewish elementary school (2-year-olds through 8th grade), prepares students to live as mensches and lifelong learners and inspires them to impact the world around them by cultivating a commitment to Torah, midot, community and academic rigor. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Leadership and Team Management:
Lead, guide and mentor the student success team, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Oversee recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of student success staff.
Strategic Planning:
Develop and implement strategic initiatives and programs to enhance student engagement, retention, and success.
Collaborate with other departments to integrate services seamlessly into the overall educational experience.

Student Support Services:
Coordinate and oversee a range of differentiated supports, including enrichment, counseling, academic advising, differentiated instruction, and remediation.
Ensure that services are accessible and tailored to meet the diverse and individual needs of students.
Build and maintain consistent communication with district and outside providers and coordinate scheduling.
Design individualized plans for students in collaboration with educational leadership and the school psychologist.

Team Meetings:
Coordinate grade/division meetings to monitor student progress.
Conduct regular meetings with learning specialists, school psychologist, and social worker.
Actively participate in the process of student screenings and acceptances.

Policy Development and Compliance:
Develop and enforce policies and procedures related to student services, ensuring compliance with relevant state regulations and standards.
Stay abreast of best practices and emerging trends in student services and education.

Qualifications:
A master's degree (or higher) in special education, educational administration, student affairs, or a related field
At least 5 years of progressive experience in student services, with a proven track record of leadership and team management
Experience in specialized educational interventions is essential.

Salary range for this role is $90,000-$110,000, dependent upon education and experience.
