Position Summary:

This position will assist Operations Manager with the care and supervision of clients in a residential program and all activities that take place during their shift. Tasks may include, but are not limited to intake, screening, supervision of clients during daily activities, and client record keeping duties, ensuring program activities takes place according to approved policies and procedures. Acts as first-line role model for clients and staff, demonstrating, through actions, appropriate professional behaviors, and client interactions. Essential Job Functions include those listed below. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Essential Job Functions:

• Assist Operations Manager with general shift operations as they relate to the direct supervision and management of the residents at the facility.
• Assist Operations Manager with training of new employees, charting functions of direct care program staff.
• Provide direct supervision for residents under direction of Program Manager.
• Scheduling, assigning, and demonstrating client chores.
• Monitor client’s behavior. Report any unusual behavior that could indicate other problems.
• Maintain order among clients. Assign appropriate consequences for unacceptable behavior, using acceptable crisis intervention techniques as appropriate.
• Monitor client’s whereabouts to be sure they remain on property, or they have appropriate signed paperwork to leave property.
• Lead group discussions with clients.
• Plan recreational activities for clients and participate when appropriate.
• Complete monitoring notes, incident reports and case records for clients.
• Complete clerical aspects of intake process for new clients.
• Ensure the facility and property are clean, neat, and safe for clients always and performance all appropriate related tasks.
• Ensure client medication is given timely and in accordance with procedure.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

• 5 years direct experience with adults or appropriate degree with 2 years’ experience with adults in a residential setting
• Current Florida Driver’s License
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• During your tenure with WestCare there may be new requirements, including, but not limited to vaccinations that are issued by local, State, Federal, and/or Funders that WestCare may have to comply with. Should this occur Human Resources or appropriate personnel will inform you.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Working Conditions:

• Work is performed in a residential or office setting.
• Extensive outdoor activity.
• Some transportation.
• Regular attendance is required.
• Working overtime is required and essential to perform job duties at times.
