Description

Position Summary:

Coordinates the clinical activities of agency clinical treatment services. Provides effective leadership, training, and development to the clinical coordinators/clinical staff. Ensures implementation of and fidelity to selected evidence-based practices and maintenance of licensing and CARF standards.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversee and coordinate agency clinical activities.
  • Oversee and coordinate treatment services for clients with substance abuse and/or co-occurring disorders.
  • Familiarity with WestCare services and programs
  • Provide ongoing staff development and create a positive workforce.
  • Provide weekly supervision to the individual Program Directors and/or Program Managers and Clinical Coordinators.
  • Provide required documented supervision to applicable individuals working toward licensure.
  • Work with VP and Program Directors on establishing and tracking clinical productivity where required.
  • Implement, adhere to, and monitor licensing and CARF standards and agency policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and adhere to Department budgets.
  • Monitor program capacity, utilization, and unit of service delivery in coordination with Directors of Program Operations and VP.
  • Assist and make recommendations to the VP regarding program design.
  • Implement existing, new, or additional programs to comply with all funding criteria including, but not limited to the delivery of requisite services, compliance with restrictions, and reporting requirements.
  • Assist with report writing for required progress reports for federal, state, county, and other grants.
  • Meet with the VP as required.
  • The ability to evaluate the impact of substance use and mental health problems on the client's functioning in major life areas.
  • Knowledge of the inter-relationship among substance use, mental health, and primary care disorders
  • Knowledge and understanding of Motivational Interviewing; Motivational Enhancement Therapy; Trauma-Informed Care and other evidence based-practices commonly used within the behavioral health field.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of commonly used assessment tools.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in individualizing biopsychosocial assessments and subsequent treatment planning.
  • The ability to identify crises when they surface; mitigate or resolve the immediate problem; and de-escalate the situation, including the ability to develop Safety Plans, as needed.
  • Knowledge and application of developmental theories
  • Knowledge and application of developmental psychopathology
  • Understanding of family dynamics, family roles, and family structure
  • Understanding and application of federal, state, local, and agency confidentiality rules and professional standards of conduct
  • Understanding of issues related to cultural identity, ethnic background, age, developmental level, gender, and sexual orientation in prevention, intervention, and treatment.
  • Understands that different cultural and ethnic groups have different perceptions of health, wellness, behavioral health, and preventive health services.
  • Demonstrates respect for individual’s cultural and ethnic values when conducting assessments, developing Wellness and Recovery Plans, and providing services.
  • Understands that different cultures define and perceive family and its importance differently.
  • Demonstrates ability to work effectively with culturally diverse staff and populations.
  • Ability to use trauma-informed care principles including ensuring consumer safety, preventing/avoiding re-traumatization, maximizing trustworthiness, enhancing consumer choice, maximizing collaboration, and emphasizing empowerment.
  • Ability to identify and describe key signs, symptoms, impact, and manifestations of trauma.
  • Aware of the differences between trauma-informed and trauma-specific services
  • Understands the bidirectional relationships among substance use and mental disorders and trauma.
  • Understands the differences among various kinds of abuse and trauma, including physical, emotional, and sexual abuse; domestic violence; experiences of war for both combat veterans and survivors of war; natural disasters; and community violence The ability to assess the individual’s growth and development relative to normative development for his/her chronological age, including physical, emotional, cognitive, educational, and social development.
  • Understanding of professional ethics, consumer rights, and professional responsibilities
  • Participate in monitoring and accreditation visits, as required.
  • Responsible for ensuring maintenance of clinical records in accordance with licensing and CARF standards and agency policy and procedure.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities.
  • Represent the agency, as requested, at meetings of funding agencies, governmental authorities, seminars, workshops, etc.
  • Serve as a member of the GulfCoast Leadership Team
  • Ability to organize, interpret, and communicate data in a comprehensive and effective manner.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and effectively prioritize.
  • Ability to network with internal and external departments and agencies.
  • Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with members of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Develop and maintain positive, effective community relations and partnerships.
  • Knowledge of Incident Reporting
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, Professional Ethics, Consumer Rights, and Confidentiality

Qualifications


Essential Qualifications:

Certifications/Licensures:

  • Licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in good standing by an agency approved and recognized by the state of Florida is required at the time of hire.

Education:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, childhood education, education counseling, and/or a similar course of study.

Experience and Competencies:

  • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
  • 5 years minimum recent Clinical Services Supervisor experience.
  • MCAP preferred
  • Must have the credential to provide supervision for staff seeking licensure.
  • Must either have a current Medicaid # or be able to obtain it within 90 days of hire.

Working Conditions:

  • Tasks may be performed in an office.
  • Fast-paced environment.
  • A minimum of 40 hours per week are expected but significantly more hours will be required from time to time. Completion of job duties may require working before and after normal working hours. Regular attendance is required. Being able to work as many hours as is necessary to complete job tasks is a required and essential duty of this position.
