Description

The West Virginia Clinical & Translational Science Institute (WVCTSI) with the West Virginia University Research Corporation is currently accepting applications for a (Remote) REDCap Coordinator.

About the Opportunity

As a (Remote) REDCap Coordinator, you will provide specialized services and support to the following West Virginia Clinical & Translational Science Institute (WVCTSI) core: Clinical Research Design, Epidemiology and Biostatistics (CRDEB). REDCap is a secure, web-based application designed to support traditional case report form data capture for research studies. You will assist investigators and research personnel with form creation, REDCap project modifications, data exports, and other advanced analysis and project builds. This position requires cross-core collaboration to maximize effectiveness and provide requested services in a timely manner. This position will support CTSI and partner utilization of REDCap to support COVID-19 research and operational needs. This position reports to the Clinical Services Integration Manager.

What you'll do:

  • Answer end user questions about REDCap functionality.
  • Facilitate creation of user accounts and management of existing accounts
  • Perform audits of projects and accounts within REDCap, as well as data downloaded and modified by users.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to the REDCap installation.
  • Provide support for the creation of REDCap Projects, reports, dashboards, data exports, form revisions, and other modifications to the REDCap projects to support the study workflows.
  • Provide support for COVID-19 projects that utilize REDCap.
  • Assist biostatisticians with data exporting, aligning, and reporting on REDCap data in preparation for generation of statistical and analytical reports.
  • Clean and format provided data for upload into REDCap.
  • May participate in more advanced analysis and interpretation of data as appropriate on a case-by-case basis.
  • Run occasional REDCap training sessions ranging from introduction classes to more advanced topics related to REDCap.
  • Actively participate in writing of reports, journal articles or other documentation of project/project program status and project results.
  • Create status reports on plans, progress and results of project activity.
  • Make presentations as needed.
  • Generate reports on project/ program plans, progress and results of activity.
  • Arrange and attend meetings, seminars, symposia and other events related to the core activities.
  • Establish and maintain an active network of professional contacts, related to CTSI services.
  • Assist in developing and updating core/program policies and procedures.
  • Assist the implementation of a variety of cross-core collaborations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in public health, Information Systems, Business, Statistics, Computer Science, Biomedical Sciences or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience with program development/coordination, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of medical and health care terminology. Understanding of HIPAA and/or Human Subjects regulations for clinical research. Experience with clinical data with regard to its application in medical research.
  • Ability to prepare effective support materials for technical and non-technical users and demonstrated skills to communicate technical information to non-technical users.
  • Excellent English language oral and written skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent event planning skills.
  • Established ability to read and interpret documents.
  • Demonstrated ability to present information and respond to questions from groups or individuals.
  • Ability to maintain highly sensitive, confidential material and be compliant with protected health information privacy rules.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and produce clear, concise paper and electronic documents.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment and to coordinate participation of team members from various backgrounds.
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Strong ability to multi-task multiple projects at the same time.
  • Excellent attention to detail, flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Capability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in standardized situations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with building and managing online surveys and/or database preferred specifically, building projects, developing data dictionaries, implementing branching logic and calculations, and creating reports.
  • Experience with REDCap.
  • Experience with database maintenance, data archiving, report creation, data extraction and timely database updates.
  • Experience with healthcare and/or clinical data; knowledge of hospital operations and clinical procedures.
