WEST TEXAS GAS is Hiring an ENVIROMENTAL Near Midland, TX

West Texas Gas (WTG), a 1.2 bcf per day midstream natural gas company with over 100 compressor stations and 7 Gas Plants, has an immediate opportunity for an Environmental Specialist in our Air Quality Permitting team. The position will focuses on working with commercial, engineering, and operations to deliver the company’s business objectives in the midstream segment. This job will oversee air permitting projects from conception through completion and requires strong communication skills to effectively work with personnel across the company. The position also involves working beside the Environmental Compliance team. This position will be located in Midland, TX and will report to the WTG Environmental Manager.

Title V and New Source Review Permitting – Permitting for new projects and modifications for all operations within WTG’s oil and gas facilities.

  • Regulatory Analysis – complete regulatory analyses to determine how a rule applies to new and modified oil and gas facilities.
  • Collaborate directly with engineering, operations, and commercial to deliver business objectives
  • Communicate effectively to different levels of company on permitting and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with outside organizations on permitting objectives and basis.
  • Engage and manage consultants on air permitting projects, as needed.
  • Provide assistance as an air permitting SME in compliance audits and resolving issues concerning environmental compliance, as needed.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of existing and proposed regulations that affect the oil and gas operations through training classes, lunch and learn, and conference attendance.
  • Provide assistance and have working knowledge in multiple regulatory programs that pertain to the Oil and Gas Midstream sector
  • Transition to ECS program and help develop statement of basis for permit applicability

MINIMAL ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree is required

  • B.S. in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related degree program, such as Chemistry, is preferred
  • 5 years of environmental compliance experience or 3 years of air permitting experience
  • General understanding of state and federal regulations that impact the oil and gas industry
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and work self-sufficiently given direction and resources.
  • Intermediate level desktop computer skills using Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis for anyone other than your current employer.
  • Physical ability to work in the plant site and accompany regulators on plant tours.
  • Ability to travel overnight periodically, as needed.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Regular and reliable attendance
