POSITION SUMMARY:

Supervises the fitness center and members in an enjoyable, and positive environment that promotes member wellness and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.

• Supervises the fitness center to ensure everyone’s safety.

• Must exhibit thorough understanding of current machines on the Wellness Floor.

• Answers questions from members to support them in achieving their goals related to using the fitness equipment. Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members.

• Active support of our DEIB statement and putting into practice our commitment to equity, diversity, belonging and inclusion. Continue to think about strategies to support diversity goals of the organization.

• Builds effective, authentic relationships with members and staff; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA.

• Maintains cleanliness of the fitness center.

• Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations.

• Required certifications: CPR, First Aid, AED.

• Basic knowledge of fitness and wellness.

• Committing to support and further our anti-racist work as an organization. Learning about our initiatives and the continuous work and being able to vocalize with members if needed.

• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic
  segments of the community.

• Reliable, dependable, great time-management skills and ability to multi-task.

• YMCA Healthy Lifestyles certification within 60 days of hire preferred.
