West Side Pediatrics is looking for a full-time medical billing specialist. We are a privately- owned practice serving two locations for over 50 years. Individual must be able to work well in a team environment, have the ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities appropriately. The successful candidate will use problem solving skills to research and resolve billing discrepancies, manage denials, appeals, collections, and effectively communicate with insurance payers and patients both in person and on the phone.

The candidate would have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a medical billing setting including using EMR billing software, and familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 Coding.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Correct Claims pre-submission for identified edits that will result in a claim denial or delay.
• Follow up on Denied Claims as identified through carrier denials.
• Follow up on Unpaid Claims in an aged approach for final claim resolution.
• Communicate with providers as well as other departments to maintain a productive daily workflow.
• Claim Submission
• Track A/R progress and meet minimum monthly standards
• Payment posting
• Follow-up on past due/ collections accounts
• Assist with patient benefits (Yearly benefits, COB issues, etc.).
• Identify any issues or problems with payers and insurance cards as the possible difficulties in presenting clean claims to them based upon their submission requirements
• Customer service: Answering daily patient calls regarding billing, assisting the call center and front desk with any account concerns during check in/out.
