At West Shore Community College (WSCC), student success is the cornerstone of all operations. The Associate Dean of Student Success is at the forefront of this mission, leading a dedicated team that offers comprehensive support to ensure students are equipped with the necessary tools and resources to excel. This role, which reports to the Dean of Student Services, involves overseeing advisors who serve as mentors and champions for the students. The Associate Dean collaborates with executive-level Promise Zone groups and coordinates action planning efforts. As the power user and training facilitator for technology solutions, the Associate Dean streamlines communication, academic planning, and case management. Their responsibilities also include managing the student onboarding processes, supporting staffing for events, and overseeing the Testing Center, all to maintain exceptional standards of student support.For best consideration, please apply by May 14, 2024. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
ESSENTIAL DUTIES Comprehensive Student Support: Lead our team in providing holistic support tailored to students' academic, personal, and career needs. Goal Setting and Academic Planning: Champion goal setting and academic planning initiatives to ensure every student has a clear vision for their future. Lead admissions programming, ensuring alignment with our mission and goals and partner with the Registrar for integration with the Student Information System. Resource Connection: Oversee efforts to connect students with on and off-campus resources that support their success. Community Engagement: Collaborate with community leadership of college access, high school, and community groups to align student success initiatives and support college access and success efforts. Action Planning Coordination: Coordinate advisor involvement in action planning groups to ensure our support initiatives are effective for every student cohort. Technology Innovation: Spearhead the implementation of technology solutions that enhance communication, academic planning, and case management. Student Onboarding: Oversee onboarding processes to ensure every student feels welcomed and supported. Event Staffing Support: Provide support for staffing events to ensure students have access to information and resources. Testing Center Oversight: Hire, schedule, supervise, and train Testing Center full-time staff. Oversee budgets for the Testing Center and formulate policies to adhere to regulations. Track operating and fiscal statistics, provide managerial updates, and resolve customer service issues. ADDITIONAL DUTIESEnsure commitment to the highest professional standards and business ethics, and protect and maintain confidential information. Serve on college-wide teams. Maintain and safeguard equipment, software, and facility areas. Maintain a safe work environment and prioritize the safety and well-being of our staff and students. Comply with and uphold College policies and procedures, fostering an environment of accountability. Embrace flexibility and adaptability, stepping into additional responsibilities as needed and performing other duties as assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Compensation: Salary starting at, or above $71,296, commensurate with skills/experiencePHYSICAL DEMANDS This role requires a blend of office work, meetings, and occasional campus visits. This job requires continuous sitting, frequent talking or hearing, frequent gripping or feeling with hands; typing/repetitive movement, occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, occasional walking, occasional standing. Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds. WORKING CONDITIONS While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in an indoor environment.
