Our Productivity & Skills Directorate is working with a range of Community Learning and Training providers to improve digital skills for people and organisations, from the essential skills that help reduce digital exclusion, to the skills workers need in an increasingly digital economy, and through to the advanced skills required for specialist roles.

Over the past two years, the West Midlands Combined Authority has funded thousands of local residents to learn new skills for the jobs of the future. These include 1,500 people who have joined digital boot camps thanks to the Digital Retraining Fund. But it doesn't stop there.

We're now looking for an Assistant Delivery Manager to further develop, promote and amplify the programme portfolio to a range of stakeholders and support the implementation of national and regional programmes and initiatives. This role will be primarily based within our Productivity & Skills Directorate with strong links to the Strategy and Economy Team. You will work closely with Community Learning Providers to ensure that their Adult Education Budget (AEB) funded offer is fit for purpose and feeds into the wider Further Education offer across the West Midlands. A core part of this role will include leading on digital inclusion, supporting the regional Coalition for Digital Inclusion and ensuring equal digital opportunities across the West Midlands.

* Work with colleagues in the AEB team to understand funding mechanisms for Community Learning and Digital provision and to support with the strategic planning around allocating these funds

* Work with stakeholders across the city to help influence skills delivery at a Community Learning Level, with a focus on entry level digital provision

* Support the West Midlands Coalition for Digital Inclusion, and act as the corporate lead on digital inclusion

* Attend community learning forums/groups, represent the CA and feedback actions into the Productivity & Skills and/or Strategy and Economy teams

* Identify digital opportunities across the region to include employer partners, gaps in provision and provider liaison, including support with securing alternative sources of funding for basic digital skills delivery

* Work closely with the Coalition for Digital Inclusion to ensure that skills are accurately represented, community learning providers are represented, and actions are reported back to the Senior Delivery Manager

* Represent the WMCA at digital events across the region

* Produce a monthly Community Learning report to be used in the planning of funding allocation

**About you**

You will have experience working within training and education and will have a strong understand of AEB funding and the digital training landscape in the West Midlands. You will be comfortable engaging with community learning providers, influencing skills provision and flying the flag for digital inclusion in the West Midlands. You will have strong relationships with community groups and the third sector, and an understanding of the context they operate in.
