Overview
The fully accredited, award-winning, West Michigan Surgery Center, LLC, (WMSC) located in Big Rapids, MI, is looking for a highly motivated, full-time, Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team of excellent providers and support staff. Interested individuals must be licensed in the State of Michigan and accustomed to functioning in a fast-paced, highly team-oriented healthcare environment. Prior work in an ambulatory surgery center (ASC) is preferred, however we are willing to train an ambitious, high-energy individual who is eager to learn. Since ASCs are not commonly staffed as heavily as hospital-based surgery units, excellent attendance and punctuality of all team members is extremely important to maintain efficiency and keep costs low for the patients we serve. WMSC RN staff are responsible for providing therapeutic, effective, patient-centered care according to physician orders and in compliance with the philosophy of the facility, standards of practice, and regulations of governing agencies. WMSC offers its team members competitive hourly wages and benefits. We provide services during weekdays M-F. No second or third shifts, no weekends, and zero call shifts.
Responsibilities:
Upon successful completion of orientation, the RN will be:
Responsible for providing competent, high quality and efficient patient care in pre, intra, and post-procedural areas of an ambulatory surgery center.
Responsible for correctly documenting all patient care activities.
Responsible for correct usage of equipment to perform continuous patient monitoring and evaluation.
Responsible for administering medications as ordered by attending physician.
Responsible for developing/maintaining competency in all aspects related to nursing care in the ASC environment.
Responsible for performing all assigned duties per established policies and procedures and according to best practices.
Responsible for involvement and input into infection control and quality improvement activities.
Requirements:
Must meet licensure requirements as designated by the Michigan Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required at the time of hire.
ACLS is required within 90 days following hire date.
