The West Herr Automotive Group has 39 locations in the Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse areas. We are expanding at our Blasdell corporate accounting office and have an opening for an Accountant who will prepare entries in the accounting system, perform analysis of balances in general ledger, and prepare financial statements
The right candidate will have the opportunity to grow into a position with responsibilities that include maintaining internal controls, preparing monthly dealer financial statements, and other required management reports. The position requires the ability to effectively communicate financial information to various levels of management in a timely matter.

Responsibilities – Accountant:

• Prepare entries in accounting the system
• Perform analysis of balances in general ledger
• Prepares financial statements
• Perform routine and non-routine, moderately complex accounting functions following established procedures
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations
• Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations for management
• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and forecasts as required
• Verify data for completeness and accuracy
• Understanding of internal control concepts and processes to mitigate risks
• Attend all company-required meetings
• Additional responsibilities as requested or required

Qualifications/Skills/Requirements – Accountant:

• 
  Bachelor of Science in Accounting
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Ability to administer payroll with complete confidentiality
• Ability to maintain key filing systems
• Working knowledge of bank terminology
• Ability to prepare account reconciliations
• Knowledge of computer systems for data analysis and management reporting
• Proficiency in MS office products including Excel and Word
