West Fraser is looking for a Shipping Supervisor. This role reports to the Planer Superintendent for the mill.

What you will do:

• The Shipping Coordinator will maintain open communications with internal/external contacts.
• Fill in for the sales pulled when needed.
• Coordinate with the Logistical Coordinator on all freight rate exceptions.
• Supervise loading of trucks in accordance with the written load plan.
• Conduct load verification and/or blind tallies and supervise corrections when needed.
• Ensure forklift drivers perform daily operator's checks and fill fuel tanks at the beginning of the shift.
• Supervise the pre-staging of lumber for special orders,
• Conduct daily spot inventory of the warehouse and perform inventory adjustments when needed.
• Obtain weekly run schedule from Planer Supervisor and relay information to Sales in a timely manner.
• Print daily reports and ensure correct distribution and daily shipping values balance.
• Coordinate efforts between departments to ensure inventory is stored in a safe, clean, and orderly manner.

Minimum Requirements you will need:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Communication skills are required to interact with internal & external customers, trucking companies, etc. This includes telephone skills as well as in person.
• Work well independently
• Handle multivariate responsibilities and meet deadlines
• Perform manual tasks, which include bending, stooping, walking on various surfaces, lifting, and/or reaching
• Ability to determine different grades of lumber by their stamps.
• Work weekends and overtime as necessary.
• Certify as a forklift operator
