    ELEMENTARY TITLE I READING TEACHER - L.E. BERGER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

    L.E. Berger Elementary is searching for a full-time Title I Reading Teacher to work with grades Kindergarten through 5th grade in small group interventions. Responsibilities include a reading background, small group intervention experience, data tracking and assessment skills, outstanding communication skills, and must have strong collaboration skills.
    POSITION: Elementary Title I Reading Teacher - L.E. Berger Elementary School
    *Position is funded through Title I funds and may be on a non-renew contract at the end of the school year.
    TERM: 188-day contract for the 2022-2023 School Year
    SUMMARY: The title reading teacher works with department personnel from both Title I Reading and EL to create a Literacy Team that engages students on reading intervention skills. Working as a team, personnel focus small group instruction on services aimed at increasing student reading proficiency and confidence, along with creating a safe and caring environment for reading to occur with hands-on lessons that excite, energize, and support student practice, performance, and growth. This position requires an educator to display top reading and language skills, organization, teamwork, flexibility, resiliency, able to work with parents on reading strategies, apply training to different literacy techniques/strategies with K-5 age groups to instruct reading, apply and use data to make decisions on student growth and programming, and work in conjunction with classroom teachers on student progress.
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • ND Teaching License with appropriate qualifications to teach grades 1-8 or K-8
      • Not mandatory to apply, but may need to obtain reading credential
    • Bachelor's degree in elementary education or area of similar study
    • Ability to develop positive relationships with students, colleagues and the school community
    • Ability to work well with others, resolve controversy and conflict through respectful negotiation, and accept constructive feedback
    • Strong reading background
    • Strong communication skills to facilitate connection and sharing of thoughts and ideas in multiple formats with diverse audiences
    • Ability to reason, interpret, and analyze information to generate new knowledge and understanding
    • Adept at problem-solving, resilient when faced with challenges, and skilled in planning and organization
    • Experience working in an elementary school setting preferred
    • Prior small group intervention experience preferred
    • Prior teaching experience preferred
    SALARY: Commensurate with experience and education, the starting salary for this position is $38,493-$61,775 for 188-day contract, following the 2022-2023 Teachers' Salary Schedule
    The WFPS District funds the entire 11.75% employee contribution to TFFR, as well as the 12.75% employer contribution.
