West Fargo Public Schools is looking for Cultural Liaisons to join our team for the 2023-2024 school year!
POSITION: Cultural Liaisons - West Fargo Public Schools
TERM: Approximately 1-10 hours per week, will follow the West Fargo Public Schools calendar
SUMMARY: The Cultural Liaison facilitates communication between students whose first language isn’t English, their families and West Fargo Public Schools. The Cultural Liaison encourages and empowers all learners to become active participants in the education activities and programs of their children. The goal of this position is to ensure successful education for all learners.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Interact with multilingual learners and families at risk to enhance and support the learner's educational experience.
• Facilitate and improves communication between schools and learners/families at risk.
• Assist with enrollment of new learners in the district and connecting families to community resources.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Bilingual in two or more languages representative of a given culture.
• Knowledge school district policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Knowledge of cultural issues, concerns, and community resources within the school district and its community.
• Strong Oral and written communication skills.
• Translation skills for both oral and written language.

SALARY: Depending on experience, starting pay will follow the 2023-2024 Classifed Salary Schedule (B235)
