MIDDLE SCHOOL TEACHER - TECHNOLOGY & ENGINEERING - LIBERTY MIDDLE SCHOOL

POSITION: Middle School Teacher - Technology and Engineering - Liberty Middle School

TERM: 188-day contract beginning with the 2022-2023 School Year

SUMMARY: West Fargo Public Schools is accepting applications for a technology & engineering teacher to provide students with skills and practical hands-on STEAM experiences which includes career awareness, emerging technologies, design and layout principles, image capture and editing, engineering tools and technology, coding, keyboarding, robotics, energy and power, control systems, architecture, and aerospace. Course content may lead to marketable job skills or post-secondary training in a related career field. The program of studies includes classroom and lab instruction with the following courses: Fountains of Technology, Exploring Technology, and Automation and Robotics.
Experience in the following principles and technologies are foundational to the curriculum: design thinking, measurement, design and layout, image capture, creation of digital projects, use of social media tools, front end coding and scripting, digital production, engineering design processing, communication and interpersonal skills. Projects are prepared from concept to production. A working knowledge and use of current software and online resources is preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:

North Dakota Teaching License– with a major or minor in the area of Technology and Engineering Education. Provisional certification may be granted when the instructor is enrolled in an approved CTE alternative teacher education program. Candidates pursuing the alternate license option must complete required coursework within the required timeframe outlined by the ND licensing board. http://www.nd.gov/cte/teacher-cert/docs/SecondaryLicensingReq.pdf
Ability to develop positive relationships with students, colleagues and the school community
Ability to work well with others, resolve controversy and conflict through respectful negotiation, and accept constructive feedback
Strong communication skills to facilitate connection and sharing of thoughts and ideas in multiple formats with diverse audiences
Ability to reason, interpret, and analyze information to generate new knowledge and understanding
Adept at problem-solving, resilient when faced with challenges, and skilled in planning and organization
Experience working in a secondary setting preferred
Prior teaching experience preferred

SALARY: Commensurate with experience and education, the starting salary for this position is $38,493-$61,775 for 188-day contract, following the 2022-2023 Teachers' Salary Schedule.
West Fargo Public Schools offers a competitive and comprehensive benefits package. The annual salary listed for this position is the base cash salary and excludes retirement contributions. For all professional/licensed staff, the district funds both the employee contribution (11.75%) and the employer contribution (12.75%) to the teachers' fund for retirement (TFFR).
