The West Central WI Biosolids Facility is a regional municipal biosolids processing facility that processes wastewater biosolids from 21 area communities. The Biosolids are dewatered and lime stabilized to create a Class A product used as a soil amendment.
The MAINTENANCE/OPERATOR POSITION
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: This Maintenance/Operator will work under the direction and supervision of the Biosolids Facility Superintendent. Perform a variety of tasks in the operation and maintenance of the West Central Wisconsin Biosolids Facility in Ellsworth Wisconsin. Maintenance/Operator will work flexible hours as scheduled by the Facility's Superintendent.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE POSITION: Maintenance/Operator engages in a variety of task in the operation and maintenance of the Biosolids Facility.
Maintenance/Operator must be highly motivated, self-starter and able to follow written and verbal instructions. This employee will maintain and repair equipment, adjust and operate processing equipment, and perform process control laboratory analysis on biosolids and biosolids end product.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Maintenance/Operator duties will include inside and outside work, in varying weather condition. This employee will be required to work in odorous, dusty, and noisy environment. Maintenance/Operator must be able to lift 50 pounds routinely and occasionally 80 to 90 pounds.

-- Operate computer systems SCADA, MS Word and excel
-- Record meter reading, gages, and flow rates.
-- Maintain equipment and do repairs.
-- Conduct process control analysis, pH, % solids etc..
-- Repair and maintain equipment and building.
-- Collect samples of biosolids and biosolids product.
-- Operate Wheel Loader.
-- Keep Facility clean and orderly.
-- Remove snow and cut grass.
-- Assist in maintaining records.
QUALIFICATION--Maintenance/Operator must be 18 years of age with valid Wisconsin Driver’s license. Graduation from high School or a high school equivalency diploma with experience in wastewater or any combination training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Maintenance/Operator must be able to obtain WI Dept of Natural Resources Wastewater certifications for the subclasses A1, C, P, and U within a reasonable period of time.
