As an Activity Assistant with Park Centre you will:

• Involve residents in a variety of activities and provide support including reading to residents, writing letters, doing crafts, encouraging hobbies, errands, storytelling, listening, exercising, etc. Create joy/laughter, spontaneity, and positive home environments for residents.
• Serve as a companion to residents and works to build meaningful relationships with all residents. Develop and maintain positive relationships with family members, volunteers, visitors, etc.
• Encourage resident participation in outdoor events/outings, social gatherings, spiritual/religious activities, etc.
• Help to coordinate activity programs with other services and departments in the facility.
• Transport residents to and from programs.
• Review scheduled activities daily and keeps residents informed of program changes.
• Assist with program planning and set up as needed.
• Assist residents to the restroom during off-campus activities as needed.
• Maintain records including but not limited to assessments, progress notes and attendance as requested.
• Maintain craft supplies and keeps storage areas organized. May assist with weekly maintenance of aviaries, gardens, aquariums, etc. as requested.
• Inform supervisor and other staff members of whereabouts when away from the department and building.
