Wesley Lea Hill is Hiring a Health Information Records Specialist Near Auburn, WA

Enrichthe lives of older adults through community, choice, and continuing care in the Health Information Specialist role. TheHealth Information Specialist is responsible for maintaining, organizing,auditing, and retrieving health information which includes a wide array of clinicalrecords such as medical history, examination results, diagnostic tests,physician orders, consents and authorizations, care plans, and other medicalrecords. This role records and tracksresident admissions, room changes, and discharges. Find yoursense of belonging at Wesley!


 You willprovide continuing care through these responsibilities

Essentialfunctions of this position include the following.

  • Maintain, organize, audit, and retrieve personal health information(PHI) according to Federal, State and Company guidelines and policies.
  • Serve as a Point Click Care (PCC) superuser and in-housetrainer.
  • Perform data entry in various electronic medicalrecord systems including PCC.
  • Responsible for transmitting PHI to physicians, legal requestors, andother affiliated or third-party partners.
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance for health information.
  • Stays up-to-date on medical documentationrequirements plus ensure the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of medicalrecords documentation and filing.
  • Maintains accurate records for physician visits, admissions, roomchanges, and discharges.
  • Perform audits of both paper and electronic medicalrecords. Based on audit results, createnew processes or controls to improve compliance.
  • Assist with survey preparation.
  • Conducts self in a professional manner, treat others with dignity andrespect.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Our requirements and qualifications for success

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent workexperience required.
  • Registered Health RecordsInformation Technician program completion desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak andunderstand the English language
  • Knowledge of medical terminology as pertainsto skilled nursing health information records.
  • Proficient with Point Click Care.
  • Knowledge of numeric and alphabetical filing systems.
  • Keyboarding and 10-key skills for data entry.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, privacy, and otherapplicable guidelines.
  • 1-year experience working with electronichealth information records in a skilled nursing facility.

Physical,environmental, and mental requirements

  • Bending, stooping, walking, sitting, and standingthroughout the business day.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds (supplies and recordboxes)
  • Ability to sit for a period of time working at acomputer terminal.
  • The ability to remain calm during an emergency orunforeseen event.
  • Near and far vision.
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so otherswill understand.
  • The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presentedthrough spoken words and sentences.
  • Willingness to engage with residents in an active workplace.

SalaryRange: $20.77 to $30.55 per hour
