The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) cares for ill, injured, or convalescing patients/residents or persons with disabilities in a variety of care settings which may include skilled nursing or long term care. Licensed Practical Nurses may work under the direction of a registered nurse and often direct and supervise the work of nursing assistants.
What you’ll do

• Provide basic patient care or treatments, such as taking temperatures or blood pressures, dressing wounds, treating bedsores, giving enemas or douches, rubbing with alcohol, massaging, or performing catheterizations.
• Administer prescribed medications or start intravenous fluids.
• Collect samples, such as blood, urine, or sputum from patients, and perform routine laboratory tests on samples.
• Measure and record patients' vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, or respiration.
• Supervise nurses' aides or assistants.
• Care for residents by monitoring health status, feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, assisting with mobility, and serving meals and snacks.
• Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships with residents, families, and coworkers.
• Document and record resident observations and health-related information in electronic systems.
• Communicate resident observations and health-related information to others member of the care team including coworkers, supervisors, third-party providers, and families.
• Learn and apply Company, Federal, State, and local rules, regulations, and policies.

What you’ll need

• Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Washington State
• Washington State Food Worker Card within 14 days of hire
• CPR and First Aid certification within 30 days of hire
