Job Description

Wesco is looking for a Deli Associate to join our team in Muskegon, MI. We are a small, family-owned business that has been in business for over 30 years. We have expanded to include a hot deli. We are looking for someone who is passionate about food and loves working with people. Hours to include 9am-4pm

Responsibilities:

• Greet customers and help them find the right product for their needs
• Prepare food items to order, like chopping vegetables or cutting meat
• Stock inventory
• Clean and maintain the store, including the deli area and bathrooms. Maintains the store appearance by picking up and putting away products on a daily basis. Maintains safe and clean work environment by following health regulations.
• Maintain contact with customers by answering questions or requests, taking orders, and returning calls efficiently
• Process payments in a timely manner by collecting cash and credit card payments
• Keep store clean and organized by keeping shelves clean, neat, and stocked
• Operate kitchen equipment including cutting vegetables, cutting meat, weighing ingredients, preparing sauces, etc.
• Other duties as assigned by manager

Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years of age or older

• Must be able to work independently with limited supervision
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Must be able to follow instructions given for opening/closing procedures, food preparation/stocking/cleaning procedures. Must be able to follow all safety rules and regulations including wearing safety equipment as required (e.g., face shield or goggles)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 21 – 28 per week
