Job summary:

The Life Enrichment Aide with assist in implementing therapeutic activity programs on a daily basis to meet the individual resident’s needs and interests.The Life Enrichment Aide is also responsible for charting daily activity participation for each resident to establish an on-going life enrichment program.

Responsibilities:

Facilitate activities planned by the Life Enrichment Director, using materials and equipment provided.

Distribute monthly activity calendar if directed to do so by Life Enrichment Director.

Provide one-to-one visits with residents as scheduled.These visits may include reminiscing, sensory stimulation, socialization, and educational activities.

Encourage residents to participate in activities and/or events by informing them daily of recreational opportunities.

Escort/transport residents to and from events and activities.

Interact with staff, residents, family members, and volunteers in a professional manner.

All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma (or equivalent)

Previous experience in a hospital or nursing home is a plus.

Patient, compassionate and a desire to work with the elderly.

May be required to work rotating shifts in various departments.

Perform the physical requirements of the position which include standing, bending, and lifting.

Work well with others; treat residents, co-workers, and staff with care and respect.

Protect resident confidentiality by not sharing information.

Adhere to all Wesbury personnel policies as they apply to the workplace.
