Gymnastics Coach (Tumbling and Trampoline) Job Description

The WHGF Tumbling and Trampoline (T&T) Team Coach is responsible for the development and management of the T&T Pre-Team and Team; this includes but is not limited to utilizing technical approaches that will increase the quality and performances of the T&T Pre-Team and Team, providing a learning environment for all athletes and preparing them for future competitions. The role is accountable for working within the organization’s vision, mission, policies, procedures and goals set forth by Management. This position reports directly to the Gymnastics Supervisor and Gym Manager.

Job Description and Responsibilities:

  • Manage, develop, and train WHGF T&T Pre-Team and Team
  • Assist with coaching WHGF Recreational/Community Gymnastics Programs
  • Organize and assist with class/practice groups and structures
  • Develop and ensure the effective delivery of short and long-term goals
  • Actively recruit and develop new athletes within the program
  • Organize and attend competitions/meets, clinics, camps, trainings, and staff meetings as required.
  • Communicate with parents on class structures and changes, athlete progressions, and competition information.
  • Communicate and work as a team with all staff to ensure quality gymnastics and a high level of customer service
  • Supervise athletes in a safe and effective manner
  • Ensure the gym and equipment are safe, organized, clean, and well maintained
  • Set up and breakdown of gym equipment as needed
  • Maintain a professional appearance
  • Participate in a coaching or technical role in demonstrations, internal events, and competitions as assigned
  • Adhere to the code of conduct and Safe Sport for coaches and athletes as set by USAG
  • Attend all staff meetings and organization events as required
  • Participate and complete other duties as assigned by Management.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Tumbling and Trampoline Gymnastics
  • 2 years of coaching experience (Team Coach experience preferred)
  • 2 years experience as a gymnast or in sports
  • 1 years experience in an admin capacity (Email communications, entry-level data entry, record keeping, customer service, etc)
  • 1 years experience as a judge (Preferred but not required)
  • USAG certifications and background check

Work Schedule:

2024 Spring Schedule (February - June)

Monday, Wednesday, Friday 4:30-7:30pm

Saturdays 9:30-4:00pm

2024 Summer Schedule (July 8 - August 2nd)

Monday - Friday 9:30-4:00pm

Compensation:

Job Type: Part-time/Hourly

Salary: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
