What matters to us:

• High School diploma or G.E.D. required
• Possession of a valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record
• First aid and CPR certification required (training provided if needed)
• Completion of all necessary training required by the Division of Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities (training provided)

Essential Functions:

• Communicate well with others including staff and our individuals
• Understand the individuals’ rights and display respect and dignity when interacting with the individuals.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals and implement a plan of care.
• Understand the departmental policy on the correct way to report any suspected form of abuse that may be observed and/or reported.
• Serve as a member of the individual’s plan of care team.
• Provide physical assistance and assistance with daily living such as: walking, getting dressed, personal hygiene, eating, using the toilet, bathing, meal planning and preparation, laundry, budgeting and financial assistance, home care, and cleaning.
• Provide emotional support advice, and assistance to help the individual work through problems.
