The transition from Student Nurse to Registered Nurse is a difficult one and mentorship is a key component within the WellSpan Nurse Residency Program. All Graduate Nurses will be enrolled in this year-long program. Our curriculum is validated and meets the standards of excellence required by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. The content is focused on defining clinical practice as well as psychosocial support of the new graduate nurse along with focus on the enculturation of the graduate nurse within the organization. Unique to WellSpan is the incorporation of 1:1 visitation with the Nurse Resident by a Professional Development Specialist which ensures a smooth transition for our Residents. WellSpan is the one of the only PTAP(Practice Transition Accreditation Program) in South-Central PA.
