About this role:
As Wells Fargo expands Natural Language Process (NLP) and Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) use cases, Enterprise Data Science is looking for a talented individual to provide technical leadership on all matters related to use case qualification, infrastructure optimization, data science techniques, innovation, and model risk management.
Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Quantitative Analytics Specialist to join the Enterprise Data Science group within Data Management and Insights (DMI) team. This role will report to the Head of NLP, Generative AI and Innovation and will require an individual with hands-on experience in solving complex machine learning challenges and proven track record of data science innovation. You will work directly with executive sponsors of AI use cases, platform engineers, product managers, risk and compliance partners, fellow data scientists, academic and vendor partners to help deliver advanced AI solutions in a highly governed enterprise setting.
In this role, you will:
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to help optimize and test the technology stack for LLM inferencing and training. Contribute to the platform roadmap.
  • Help translate business pain points into solvable AI problems. Collaborate with engineers and architects to take into account the full solution considerations and formulate the data science problem
  • Develop reusable code and libraries to accelerate NLP and Gen AI model development.
  • Collaborate with academic and industry partners to develop a point of view on industry practices, pro and cons of different approaches and capabilities and use case roadmap
  • Lead collaboration with Corporate Model Risk (CMOR) - to help define and refine model risk requirements for Large Language Models (LLM) and generative AI models
  • Consult with all levels of managers, regulators, and auditors
Required Qualifications:
  • 10 years of Quantitative Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
  • Master's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics, economics, or computer science
  • 2 years of Natural Language Processing (NLP) experience
Desired Qualifications:
  • 2 year of experience working on Large Language Models in highly regulated industries or 4 years of NLP model development using frameworks like Pytorch and Keras
  • Published research in Natural Language Processing (NLP)
  • 3 years of analytics consulting experience
  • 2 experience with data science development in public or private cloud platforms or 2 years of platform engineering experience
  • The position offers a hybrid work schedule - three days in the office and two days remote
Pay Range
$207,900.00 - $431,900.00
