Wells Fargo is Hiring a Remote Lead Risk Analytics Consultant - Consumer Credit, Corporate Risk

About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Risk Analytics Consultant to become a member of the Corporate Risk group's Credit Risk line of business. This team improves risk strategies in multiple areas (credit line management, authorizations, etc...) by performing various complex activities related to business analysis, solving business problems, and impacting the bottom line by proposing and implementing data-driven actions.
The Credit Risk team is responsible for leading, developing and implementing strategic initiatives and processes to drive the company's credit culture, risk appetite, and business performance. Also, the team provides analytical support on consumer and business credit, operating losses and other product strategies to ensure company goals are met; segments and monitors various credit, deposit and other product groups, vintages, etc... and makes recommendations to management based on observed trends; produces performance monitoring and benchmarks regarding growth, mix, delinquency, losses and overall credit performance; coordinates production of monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports for senior management; reviews and analyzes trends in current population distributions and recommending strategies; works with business partners to provide analytic solutions and develops strategies to support or negate change recommendations.
In this role, you will:
  • Lead complex initiatives related to data and reporting to support business analysis including those that are cross functional, with broad impact, and act as a key participant in data aggregation, monitoring, and reporting of portfolio metrics for risk analytics
  • Review and analyze complex databases, extract data and manipulate databases to provide statistical and financial data support to risk partners and projects
  • Create & manage the roll out of automated and dynamic self-service dashboards and reports developed to support analysts and portfolio monitoring
  • Make data and reporting decisions in support of complex product strategies, and risk exposure, requiring a solid understanding of business unit projects and regulatory responses, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements that influence analytic and reporting needs to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, less experienced to more experienced managers, to resolve production, project, and regulatory issues
  • Engage and develop strong relationships with key stakeholders, fostering open communication and collaboration
  • Lead projects, teams, and mentor
Required Qualifications, US:
  • 5 years of Risk Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in quantitative discipline such as economics, statistics or operations research.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and advanced MS Office Suite product skills to include (MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, MS Word, etc...).
  • Excellent proficiency in programming and data manipulation using SAS, SQL, Python, and Tableau.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Ability to gather, analyze, package, and present analytical findings in an insightful and logical manner.
  • Previous experience with credit risk strategy development and monitoring in financial service industry.
  • Attention to detail, strong partnership, and problem-solving skills.
