About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Design Strategist as part of Strategy, Digital and Innovation. In this role, we’re looking for someone with pi—shaped competencies you come with depth in strategic design and another area like Behavioral Science, speculative design, research, or user experience. The depth of these areas is complemented by a broad toolkit that shines as you inspire and enable great design, and thrive within a new, growing multidisciplinary team of collaborators. Design Strategists in partnership with a diverse team of collaborators care for the following:
- Design Sprint facilitation where we impart new ways of working to various internal teams while designing new business visions, solutions, and roadmaps
- Innovation Incubation, where we identify and enable deep understanding of opportunity areas, design related concepts and turn those ideas into products and services that are delivered in market.
In this role, you will:
Analyze and synthesize data from a myriad of sources to quickly identify and convey user insights that guide strategy and product definition
Scope, plan and execute discovery and evaluative design research and translate research into strategic insights
Partner with Product Designers to evolve ideas into tangible concepts and product designs
Create visual artifacts that reflect insights and convey ideas that inspire new thinking
Design and facilitate design strategy workshops
Plan and lead others through analysis and synthesis activities
Design and deliver learning content and experiences akin to learn, practice, apply
Help leaders see the connection between research, customer insights and design solutions from ideation to execution
Success in this role requires being a self-starter with a curious pioneering spirit inclined to continuous discovery and experimentation, comfortable with ambiguity, a strong ability to execute in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple priorities, strong systems thinking and analytics thinking skills, the ability to present complex topics in a simple and compelling manner.
You’ve had rich experiences, titles you may have had include, Design Strategist, Behavioral Scientist, Design Sprint Leader, Innovation Designer, Innovation Facilitation, Innovation Consultant, Innovation Strategist, Business Designer, Service Designer, Experience Designer, Design Researcher, Customer Experience Specialist, Product Designer and Strategist, or UI Designer and Strategist.
Required Qualifications, US:
5 years of Website or Application Design experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
5 years’ experience leading discovery and evaluative design research (problem definition, research planning, interviewing - from ethnographic interviews to usability testing).
5 years of professional experience working with product teams including product leaders, UX designers and other design strategists (at agency and/or within large organization).
Professorship, teaching adults
Experience leading projects with multi-disciplinary teams comprised of designers, architects, and strategists.
Experience and excellence in creating innovative solutions for customers or employees, leveraging methods including but not limited to design thinking, human centered design, Futurism, Service Design, Data Visualization, ethnography, systems thinking, analytical thinking, in-depth-interview, Opportunity Definition, Concept Development, Storytelling, Visual Recording.
Experience using design tools such as Figma, Mural, Miro, Invision, etc.
Advanced Degree in social, behavioral, human centric interaction or cognitive sciences (Sociology, Anthropology, Psychology) or other research-oriented disciplines within Humanities, Cultural studies, Political Science, Business, or Design.
Job Expectations:
This role will not be a telecommuting position and will follow a hybrid office model. Candidates must be willing to work out of Palo Alto or Menlo Park 3 days a week.
Pay Range
$115,900.00 - $206,100.00Benefits
